I was cleaning out my garage a few weeks ago, and I accidentally bumped my fishing rod off of its holster on the wall. As I caught it in my hand I felt something deep within me whisper “remember”, and I was flooded with memories of catching bass along the Upper Niagara River. After coming to terms with what I assume was a curse, I immediately contacted my good friend Sean and asked him if he had any open spots on his boat in the coming weeks.
He did. And he was even kind enough to let me break his “No cameras on the boat” rule.
I understand that it is hard to talk about a project like this without coming off as showy or pretentious. In an age where almost anything can be perceived as offensive, allow me to keep this brief and assure you - I don’t care.
Thank you so much to the many families who reached out to me and willingly got their pictures taken during a time period without barbers or salons, and selflessly gave to the many charities listed below. I know that these sessions were quick, distant, and far from ordinary. Regardless, know that I enjoyed every one of our conversations. It was a pleasure to take part in helping you document the one time your entire family was under one roof, celebrate your big days, and announce some good news. Thank you for your generosity, and for giving me a reason to get out of my sweatpants and back on the road.

The Front Steps Project was started by a New England Photographer named Cara Souila. While I love this project and was happy to take part in it, the credit for the idea goes exclusively to her.
Allow me to take you back to a simpler time, before face masks and social distancing. Back where people were getting pregnant before it was the cool thing to do during an isolation period. I’m talking about maternity sessions before COVID.
The Capuson family has grown over the past two months, they have recently welcomed their first baby girl Cali to the world. We were all looking forward to an exciting first 48 session, but unfortunately, we had to put that on hold due to the current state of the world.
The sun was shining and the wind was blowing on this cool spring day at Fort Niagara. We had a great time walking through the woods and talking about the exciting time that lay ahead of them.
